Honey, I’ve gotta catch a plane. And so it goes, back into the suitcase, back
to the airport and through the various indignities that purchase our fragile illusion
of safety. And into the wild blue yonder. A quick hop on the tarmac of London
Heathrow airport for a quick change to the plane for Roma.
Those of
you who read this space will be happy to know that I am heading to a new part
of the Motherland ... so you won't have to read even more about Roma or worse,
Firenze. (Although I can’t promise there’s won’t be a day trip, complete
with my rhapsodizing about her splendors).
After a
brief decompression in Roma, will be heading south-east to the Mezzogiorno, or
more precisely to the heel of the boot -- the lovely region of Puglia. We fly
from Roma to Brindisi and start in an apartment in Lecce, ending along the
coast in Monopoli. With lots in between.
Stay tuned for our excellent adventures.
